Christmas is right around the corner, and there are so many things to do and see to get you into the holiday spirit! Soon, you will see stunning light displays everywhere you turn, and you’ll hear Christmas classics every time you turn on the radio; it’ll have you feeling merry and bright in no time!

 

 

Take a look at these holiday events happening in the Reno-Sparks area. Your calendar will be filled up before you know it!

 

The City of Reno is hosting its annual tree lighting with a new two-day Holiday Lights Festival event. The tree lighting will take place on November 24th at sunset at Believe Plaza in Downtown Reno, with holiday shopping, live music, food trucks, and drinks on November 24th and 25th.

 

The 8th annual 39 North Pole Village will take place from November 30th through December 2nd at Victorian Square Plaza in Downtown Sparks. Grab the kids and stop out to enjoy pictures with Santa, live music, lighting displays, free train rides, and more!

 

You’re also invited to enter the 2023 Griswold Challenge Decorating Contest. This is a People’s Choice contest, so event attendees will decide the winner. First place will receive the Clark Griswold Award and $500, while second place will receive the Cousin Eddie Award and $250.

 

The 36th annual Sparks Hometown Christmas will take place on December 1st and 2nd. This year’s theme is Dashing Through the Decades theme, so get hyped up for the holidays by dressing up in your favorite decade’s attire.

 

The weekend will kick off with the annual tree lighting ceremony on December 1st, with live entertainment and free hot chocolate. On December 2nd, the Christmas Parade will start at 1pm at Pyramid and head down Victorian Ave to Victorian Plaza Circle West.

 

Join in on the magic of the season all month long at Virginia City’s Christmas On The Comstock! This Victorian-style holiday celebration includes an official tree lighting, town-wide Christmas decorations, V&T Candy Cane Express & Electric Holiday Train O’ Lights, Believe Again Christmas Giveaway, and more!
